I'm looking for the burial place of my gg grandparents
DR. THOMAS J. TURPIN and his wife
ELIZABETH FOSTER BOBO TURPIN.
Dr. Turpin died in Aug 1963 "just after the fall of Vicksburg.
Eliza Turpin died in 1865.
My records say they died in Oak Ridge. They are both on the 1860 census in Ward 6, Morehouse Parish, LA
Their daughter Annette TURPIN died in 1862 and was on the 1860 census living with her parents in Oak Ridge.
Their daughter Mary TURPIN married Porter J. LARKIN in 1863. Porter lived with his father Samuel J. Larkin in Pt. Jefferson in 1860. Mary Turpin LARKIN's daughter Mary Alice TURPIN married Cuddy Thomas BAIRD or Oak Ridge.
Their daughter Alice Ingram TURPIN was living with her parents in 1860 and married George Alexander PETERKIN in 1866. They were living in Ward 6, Morehouse Co., LA in 1870.
I have also found a historical TURPIN Post Office in Morehouse Parish.
So I have 5questions.
1) Is Ward 6 otherwise known as Oak Ridge?
2) Where can I find informatin on physicians in Oak Ridge?
3) Does anyone have any information on the TURPINs, LARKINs, the PETERKINs, or the BAIRDs?
4) Are there cemetery listings for the Catholic and Episcopal churches in Oak Ridge?
5) Is TURPIN Post office anywhere near Oak Ridge?
