Anyone know more of these folks, their origins or more grave locations/pictures? This group may/should be the family of my gg grandmother Florence Higman. She married Reverend Joseph Byron Wise--a longtime resident of Claiborne parish from a massive immediate family-- whose ordination on 11 September 1881 at El Dorado Baptist Church was recorded in Notarial Book "M" page 548 in Morehouse Parish on 17 May 1882: In the 1850 Census they were in Columbia,South Carolina: John Higman; born in England about 1819 Mary wife Children: Anna Abraham (or sometimes Abram or W. Abram) Adelaid Emily FLORENCE John The family moved to Louisiana (around 1858 possibly) Father John Higman served in the 5th Louisiana Regiment in the Civil War. W. John or John W. Higman and his wife Mary Rebecca Flynn are buried in Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop with their sons James Brisco Higman and W. Abram Higman (and their wives). Abram Higman served in the 12th Regiment. Thanks so much if you can reply! Terri Rine Dance Notify Administrator about this message?
