I am seeking info re my husband's g-grandfather, Dr. James P. Oliver. When a small baby in late 1837 or early 1838, his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Hold Oliver, moved to Winn Parish, La., from Tennessee. In 1857 James P. began the study of medicine with Drs. Wright & Merideth of Columbia, La. He entered the medical departmenht of the University of Louisiana and graduated about 1860, then began a practice in Morehouse Parish. He returned toWinn Parish where he married Catherine Ann Hoddox, daughter of Thomas J and Mary King Haddos.

I have no info onDr. Oliver's parents or siblings. Whatever you can share will be welcomed.
