Searching for descendants of Lawson Higginbotham, born in Virginia 7/24/1794 and died in Morehouse Parish 1/12/1860. Son Of Frances and Dorothy "Dolly" Gatewood. Lawson married Elizabeth McCants 4/11/1822 in East Feliciana Parish. Her dates are 11/30/1804-11/5/1863.
Lawson is brother to my great great grandfather Caleb Higginbotham. When Caleb was murdered in 1829, Lawson took the youngest children to Morehouse Parish to care for them. This would include Martha Ann (born ca. 1822), Leonora (born ca. 1824), and William Guerrant (born 1819). William is my great grandfather.
Any info would be appreciated.
