Hi-- Your gang lived in WARD 1 which is the western part of Pointe Coupee Parish. Innis is in Ward 2 and where my Cousin and Uncle live. I live in Florida but know the area. Where are you in NE Texas as I am research my Cheek family from about Bowie and Red River Co.? Anyway, my Cousin lives there and just recently re-surveyed St. Stephen's and I'll check. A lot of families had burial land set off on their own property back then. Have you pulled any land records yet? The Courthouse there in New Roads has maps that you will die for that actually have names on plats. They have estate records--- they have all kinds of goodies! Your first stop has to be the Courthouse before you drive up the country to Innis or anywhere. If you plan to head to Innis----make sure you contact me BEFORE you go so that I can get you in touch with people who could help you. Locating their land in PCP is very important.... so you don't waste time. Why do you think he was buried at Innis and where did you get Innis from--- a record? James Innis married my great grandmother's sister and that is where the Innis name comes from. Pauline Notify Administrator about this message?
