DENNIS SMITH b. MS ca 1830 - NEW INFO - MORE QUESTIONS

Greetings
In searching for the parents / siblings of my gg gf Dennis W. Smith who md. Elizabeth Maxwell in Avoyelleys Parish in 1859, I finally found the following listing on page 37 of the 1850 Pointe Coupee Parish Census:

Amelia Smith 46 Planter, $4,000 b. GA
Andrew Smith 20 Overseer b. MS
Alexander Smith 16 none b. MS
Lafayette Smith 11 none b. MS
Dennis Smith 22 b. Labor b. MS

His age is close enough and birth place correct, but I am concerned about his placement in the family list and that the younger Andrew is the overseer instead of Dennis who was 2 yrs older. Maybe Dennis was living with an aunt. Or maybe he was physically incapacitated and not able to be the overseer.

In the 1860 census for St. Landry Parish, Dennis said he was 30 yrs old, which would make him 20 in 1850 instead of 22.

Dennis and Elizabeth had two daus: Mary Alice md to Alcie Laborde (my line) and Alma who was md. to Eugene Bringol. Dennis died before 1865 because that's when Elizabeth md. Joshua Snoddy and the family was living in Rapides Parish at the 1870 census. (Both girls were listed as Snoddy's instead of Smiths in 1870)

Does anyone on the list have information about this family?? Who was Amelia's husband??
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joanne
