John Julius Pringle in LA 1860 census

I'm trying to resolve a glitch-
in Mary's World: Love, War and Family Ties in 19th Century Charleston, by Richard N. Côté pg 7- notes was called Julius, pg 335 death/place/burial- Appendix III notes family:
Spouse is noted as
Maria Linton Duncan b.1826
Children: Catherine b.1850
Mary Motte b.1852
Stephen Duncan b.1854
Maria Duncan b.1856
Susan Pringle b.1859
Charlotte Duncan b.1859

In 1860 census he's the right age, birthplace, census place(book places him in Pointe Coupee, LA before the war) - but spouse and children's names don't match book:
1860; Census Place: Not Stated, Pointe Coupee, Louisiana; Roll: M653_414; Page: 0; Image: 404.
J.I. Pringle age 36 b.SC
Carolina age 30 b.LA
Emma age 7-1853
Harriet age 6-1854
John age 5-1855
Carolina age 4-1856
Duncan age 3-1857
Harris age 2-1859
Jane age 6/12-1860

Does anyone have another source that might help me figure out which family is which?
