Does anyone have information on the Rambin family, who are found in the Records of the Superior Council of Louisiana in Pointe Coupee in the mid-1700's. In several of LHS' (Louisiana Historical Society) archived volumes, "Rambin" is noted as a witness to court proceedings.
On April 12, 1747, Andre Rambin (La Couture) purchased a plantation in Point Coupee from Nicolas de la Cour and his wife Perine Brette for 61 piastres. This sale is cited in the LHS 1935 archive volume 18, Issue 1, page 187 (or 180, according to the archived record).
Any information on this family's presence in Pointe Coupee will be greatly appreciated.
The Rambin family were settlers of Natchitoches, LA, in early 1700's.
