Many, many thanks for your response. I did not have Abraham Briggs Henderson parents' names before this. Clicking on the website for the 1850 Census material, I couldn't get a copy big enough to read. Does it say where William and Elizabeth Henderson were from? Her maiden name? How can I access a copy of this?
Actually I have a little more information on the Arringtons. My grandmother, Maria Arrington Henderson Mitchell, used the Arrington-Porter line in her DAR application. My great-grandmother, Mary Virginia Arrington Henderson, was the daughter of John V. Arrington, MD (b.1821,d.1888,m. LA, 1850, and Maria Malinda McKee (b. 1827, d. 1863). Maria Virginia Arrington was born in 1854, preceded by brother Henry Clay Arrington, b. 1852. Younger brother, Lewis Cass Arrington was born in 1856. According to my Grandmother Mitchell's material---"The 1860 Census of Union County, Arkansas shows: John V. Arrington, doctor and farmer, age 39, born in AL, married to Maria, M. Born TN, age 30. Children: Henry 8, Mary V. 6, Lewis C. 4--all born in LA. J. V. Arrington was the son of Henry Arrington and Nancy Brock. Henry Arrington moved from Davidson County TN to AL, then the 1860 Census shows him in Union Co., AR." I don't know where the Arringtons are buried but assume Junction City, AR.
The MS birthplace for Abraham Briggs Henderson is from my grandmother's genealogical work. Why do you think it may be in error? What more is available on William and Elizabeth Henderson? Do they show-up on the 1850 Census?
Any additional information that you have on either the Arringtons or the Hendersons will be most appreciated. I'm very excited by what you have already sent. Is there any kind of county history book for Union Co., AR?
