Laaper Family Genealogy Forum

Hello Anthony, thanks for your (quick) reaction. And also thanks for the email-adress, I will surely send him an email. I'm not sure yet in which way our families are connected, therefor I need the name (and date of birth) of your grandfather. Do you know his name? All other names/dates and information is also welcome ofcourse. You can also email me personally at hlaaper@hotmail.com if you don't want the information on the internet. Because I don't know when our families come together in the familytree I can't tell you very much about your ancestors. But I traced my oldest (certain) ancestor back to 1689, and I'm sure he's also your ancestor. When I was small, I always believed Laaper was a very special name, because in the city where I grew up (Hilversum), there was a street and a park named Laaper (Laapersweg and Laapersveld). But unfortunately, nobody knows where that name comes from. So we don't have noble blood (haha) as our ancestors where very normal people, coming from Sloten (now part of Amsterdam) and most of them were carpenter or smith.
I hope you can tell me in which way our families connect, so then I can also tell you more!
Bye,
Hester
