I've always been curious about that. There is also verbal history that the LaBelle's once owned the land the city of Quebec is built on. However because of a fire all the records were destroyed. I don't know if that is just rumor or a truth that has been handed down. I do know that my grandfather William LaBelle sure had the jet black hair and high cheek bones associated with indian traits. All his family were from the Green Island area of Canada.
