I don't have anything farther back either. Possibly there were no records kept before that?

On a recent trip to Normandie, France (June, 2003), I travelled in the region of Chapelle St. Eloi near the town of Nassandres on the Risle River. The area is rich in agriculture, forested nearby, and dotted with old red-brick houses. The closest large city is Bernay.
