Thanks so much for the information!Sorry so slow to reply.
My husband's father was Robert Richard Joseph "Bob" or "Yank" LaBrecque. From census records, I can see that the eldest Richard (his brother) died as a child.
Robert's older brother Bernard joined the Army about WWII, and Robert (Bob) joined the Marines (I posted his enlistment pic on Ancestry, but have no written records).Their sister Annette became a nurse.
I have no information on either Rose or Roland.
I am especially interested in information on Adelard's grandparents---Damase's parents.Who were they?
My husband has always heard family stories that one of his female ancestors was a full-blooded Inuit (I do hope that is the polite term---no offense intended!)---but I have not been lucky enough to find any specific information and do not know along which of his several Canadian ties this might be found.
The only other family story involves a male ancestor who emigrated from Quebec to escape persecution. The stories say that he was a Doctor, but he took on a less educated persona when he left Quebec to hide his identity.Again---I have no idea if this is a LaBrecque relation, or a Bernard, Belanger, Fountain or some other line.Would very much appreciate any more hints you might have to share!
Sorry about the rambling. And thank you again for the information about Adelard's children!
