Cathy,
Lacour, Louisiana, WAS a town just northwest of Morganza, LA, off of Hwy 1. The town originally had another name, and was renamed Lacour. I had a history of the town, but I have misplaced it. There was a plantation store run by Ovide Lacour, which can only be found on the internet at: http://evangeline.arch.lsu.edu/lhin/habs/lacour/html/index.htm It was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. The reason I am writing this is that this store is in Lacour, LA. Unfortunately, all the people have moved away. I recognize your grandfather's name. Was not he from Avoyelles Parish. Do you live in Indiana?
Thomas Lacour
