Don
My mother says that this Plantation was in Bachelor, LA, she remembers that the Mrs. LaCour at that time (abt. 1935/36) had many negroes working there but she would not have the girls working in the house, instead she preferred the young boys and she would train them to be house boys. She said she remembers one time some people coming from New Orleans to visit and one of the young girls was killed in a horse back riding accident. She also recalls that there were several LaCour men or boys but not any girls.
That's about all I can tell you about LaCour Plantation.
Happy Hunting!
Debra
