Sandra,

Well, this is a long-shot, but maybe worth a try...

My ggg grandfather was John Laden, born somewhere in Ireland about 1818. He married Mary Kelly, also from Ireland. They settled in Iowa in the mid-1800's, had a family and eventually died there in the 1890's.

I don't know my ggg grandfather John's father's name, but it wouldn't be unusual for him to have been named after his father. (The name John Laden runs through the recent generations in my family.) Since Catherine's father was named John and she was born in Ireland at approximately the same time as my ggg grandfather, there could be a connection... I'm wondering if you have any knowledge of your ggg grandmother Catherine's siblings?

It's a stab in the dark. Thanks for any help.

Steve Laden
