St.Paul is now a part of Joliette, Quebec. It is my understanding that originally it was called St.Paul de l'Industrie, but it split into two section/village, one mostly farming while the other industrial and became known as St. Paul and l'Industrie. L'industire became Joilette in the early 1800 and now St.Paul is one of its parishes. There are several Laferriere families which settled and multiplied there. My ggrandmother was Christine Laferriere (Joseph m.Maire-Anne Brule) married Hercule Gregoire.
I hope this helps you locate him.
