Lahey Family Genealogy Forum

Hello there,
May as well throw my comments into the mix. My Leahy family, from near Conna, Co. Cork, Ireland kept the spelling of Leahy in Canada, however it is told that one in-law member of the family wished to distance herself from the rest and added an "e" to the name. All of these Leahy/ey families lived in and near Huntley Twp, near Ottawa and some moved to Allumette Island, QB. All this activity took place between 1823 and about 1840 (?). Another branch of the Leahy family from Co. Cork, immigrated to the Peterborough area, Ont. in 1825. Trying to tie the groups together.
