Thanks for the reply. In fact your posting may be even more relavant than expected. Further research showed that Lahee was the original spelling. Abram Lahee and probable father Thomas resided in Vermont and probably Massachusetts before that. They either came accross on an early ship to the US or came down from Canada. No link as of yet on that. Any help is always appreciated.
