Paddy Lackey/Lahy in Australia 1800's

My mother is trying to trace her ancestors. Paddy Lackey who found the gold mine which still bears his name was her grandfather's grandfather. However we know little about him other than a chapter in a book which talks about his death.
For some reason we can find out little about his children, they don't appear in the NSW on-line db so we have nothing to go on.
Anyone with any info, can you please email me so we can connect by phone.
Thanks very much in advance.
Susan
