Bridget Daley Lahiff is buried in the Cemetery on the Lizard, near Clare, Iowa. Her stone reads Bridget Daley, wife of Daniel Lahiff, died March 17th 1881.In the same plot is buried her son-in-law, John Daley. Her daughter, Anna Lahiff Daley and three of their children: Thomas, Catherine and Michael.
The family plot in front of the Daley plot holds the graves of Pat and Ellen/Ellin Lahiff. Patrick died Feb 7 1893 at the age of 73 and Ellen died June 3, 1884 at the age of 54. (I believe Pat and Anna to be brother and sister.)
Michael Lahiff (the one from Douglas township, Webster County) is Anna's brother and they also had a brother, John Lahiff, who settled in New Hampshire.
Anna Lahiff Daley is my ancestor. She died in 1931 at the age of 110.
Michael (born Sept 24, 1819 in Dublin) and his wife, Margaret Lanan (born abt 1825 in Dublin) came to the US in 1844 according to the 1900 census. Anna Lahiff (born Aug 20, 1820 in Kilfenora, County Clare) came to the US in 1848.It is likely that Patrick came at that time, also.John Lahiff is quite a bit older as he was born around 1803. Hehad diedin 1897 before the 1900 census, so I have not discovered when he came to the states.Anna and one of her brothers entered thru Boston, MA, moved onto Keene, NH and then Anna went to Schaghticoke, NY, where she married John Daley.
Michael and his wife died in 1909, within one month of each other and both were living in Dubuque, Iowa then. They had two adopted children, Sarah Conner and James Stack.Sarah Conner married a Lawrence Stack according to her father's obituary.
Please let me know if any of this ties in with your Lahiffs.
