Hi Karen,

I am also looking for Laing family born in Fife.

I did a search on your Laing family and there is 1881 census information on Richard Laing and Janet Allan. If you don't have it, I can send it. The name Jessie is the same as Janet. Could see no marriage record for Richard and Janet on the IGI. You probably have it already from another source.

Richard Laing and Jane (Jean) Storrer married 7 March 1819 Falkland, Fife. Children:

Jean Laing Chr. 1 Oct. 1826 Falkland
Agnes Laing Chr. 20 Feb. 1822 Falkland
From the census, Richard would fit in about 1823, Falkland

From the IGI, there are 10 children listed for Richard Laing and Janet Allan, if you don't have them, I can send them.

I hope this helps,
Elinor Laing Rennie
