Hi Martha,
Would you believe I found him? He has a fairly unusual name so I kept trying. Long story short I found someone I thought might him. I sent a letter to his business address and lucked out. He emailed me and I was able to send the Bible to him. Then another wonderful thing happened. Mary's sister is still living! Laing and his family visited her to celebrate her birthday. He took the Bible to her and shared the story. Isn't it fantastic what can be done on the internet?? Without it this could never have happened.
Now I have a question for you. I noticed your name is Whitlock - my great grandmother was Amanda Almeda Whitlock. She was from Patrick County, VA. Married Patrick H. Giles and moved to Bluefield, WV. She wouldn't happen to be in your line would she?
