I am very interested in the appearance of a "St. Paul Hubert Lacroix" in this thread. If anyoner is interested, I have Scholastique HUBERT's line up to her French ancestors. In the mean time, I am please to add the following about the LALANDE line.
According to the very reliable "Dictionnaire généalogique des familles du Québec" by Jeté, the ancestor (in North America) of that line of LALANDEs, was François GUILLEMOT dit Lalande, son François GUILLEMOT and Perrine MÉNARD; he was from the parish of St-Martin in the city and district of Mayenne, bishopric of Le Mans, former French province of Maine (now Department of Mayenne). He died on 29 (buried on 30) Nov 1700 in Montreal, reportedly at age 50. He was a one point a Sergent in the company of Demesny, and later a baker.
On 4 Oct 1684 in Quebec City he was married to Madeleine DUPONT, dau. of Jacques DUPONT and Marguerite IDREAU (marr. contract number 03 before notary Rageot). Madeleine was from the parish of St-Barthélemi in the city, district and bishop. of La Rochelle, former French prov. of Aunis (now Dept. of Seine-Maritime). She later remarried Jacques BIGOT (1703).
François GUILLEMOT and Madeleine DUPONT had at least ten children (Jeté list them all), one of which was Jacques, bapt 20 July 1690 in Montreal.
Jeté says that latter Jacques was married "in appox 1714" in Kaskaskia to "Marie TITIO or TETRIO, a native american" ("amérindienne"), parents unknown. He list the following children for them: all born in Kaskakia: Jacques, born 9 bapt 10 Feb 1715; twins Elisabeth and Marie, bapt 20 Nov 1717; and twins Etienne and Gabriel, born & bapt 14 Jul 1721.
As a point of interest, Jean-Baptiste GUILLEMIT dit Lalande, a younger brother of the above Jacques, also married in Kaskakia, in about 1721, and also to a native american, Catherine OUABANAKIKOUÉ.
With my best regards,
