Your Joseph Laliberte was my grandfather's brother. The information that I have gathered is as follows:
The 1900 census shows that Joseph was born in July of 1896 as he is shown as being 13 years old on June 9th 1900. I know that this is my grandfather's brother since I was back in Rhode Island in September and verified at the American French Genealogy Society in Woonsocket that Joseph and Leona emma Dyke were married at the Precious Blood Church on April 27, 1912. You also need to note that Alphone and Alphonsine (Paquette) changed their name to Laliberte when they came to the United States. Their original last name was Roireau. This is noted in the marriage information listed in the Precious Blood Church records as (Royaux (a misspelling).
Alphonse and Alphonsine Paquette were married at St. Cesaire on August 26, 1880.
There was a sister Rose born May, 1881, Omer (my grandfather) born February 1883, and Napoleon born September 1894.
