Hi Ed, Laliberte was originally a "dit" or aka for several families including Colin, Roireau, Senez, Vegeart and Laisne/Laine.
I tried to find your family. I found a Jean-Baptiste Laine-Laliberte christened 1 Apr 1810 St Charles, Bellechasse, s/o Louis Laine-Laliberte and Marie Morissette.
I know you said La Presentation, but, perhaps the family moved there. I don't know, for I could find no further info.
I racked my brain trying to come up with what could have been the original surname for your Adelaide Modat, etc. I think it might have been Monast because there were several related families in St-Mathias, Rouville at the time you are looking.
This includes a Charles Monast and Marguerite Regnier married 18 Jan 1808 who had a son, Nicolas, who eventually immigrated to Mass using the surname Miner. I could not find any info regarding an Adelaide .
E-mail me at email@example.com if you want further info on the Laine-Laliberte line.
