Gifford (Gaspard?) Laliberte

I am looking for any information on Gifford (Gaspard?) Laliberte. His name is listed on a marriage record as a witness for the marriage of Thomas Proulx and Marie Cesaire Laliberte. The marriage date was Feb 9, 1880. (I do not have the location where this record came from, only an English translation of the French record, but there are connections to Wisconsin, and possibly Minnesota.)

I know the parents of both the bride and groom, but I'm trying to figure out which Laliberte branch the bride is from.

Groom's parents: Joseph Proulx & Marie Adelaide Deguire
Bride's parents: Paul (Hyppolite)Laliberte & Anastasie Parent

Thanks in advance!
