Darlene, did your ancestors change their name from Lalonde to Lalone when they entered the U.S., or before? My search is for parents etc of Fredrick Lalone b. 1842 in Canada. Found 1871 census South Mtn., Dundas co. Ontario. He entered U.S. 1892-1904. I am wondering if some of his family had previously lived in U.S. or there was another reason the name was changed? Any insight appreciated.
