My wife is trying to trace her grand father,
George Sanford LaLone, born in Albany NY Nov. 22, 1854. For some reason left the family as a child - reputedly spent time with Barnum and Bailey Circus as the money bag carrier, Barnum would follow behind with gun on the way to the bank. Later was taken in by the Woods family and took their name. He is buried in Enid, Oklahoma. Also see entry by my wife Anita (aaharriger@aol.com) on thread by Lee Woods on 6/6/2000, in this forum. Her mothers side is Woods. She has an aunt who also located Lalone Island in the St. Lawrence River.
