I found an Brownwood, Texas obit for a Samuel Hall BATTON, at this point in time, I do not have any connections with this family, but am interested in the JAMES family the daughter's married into.
Also curious if this person is related to the BRATTON/BRATTEN families of DeKalb County, TN.

Samuel Hall BATTON born March 10, 1821 in Smith County, TN and married Miss Sarah F. LAMBERSON in (sic) DeCalb County, TN on April 26, 1849.

Mrs. Amanda JAMES, Mrs. Mary JAMES, Mrs. Lemual BATTON, Mr. Howier BATTON, Mrs. Elnora BURGE, Mrs. Samuel PAGE, Mrs. George W. BATTON, Mrs. Loena SACKWELL.

Fought in the Civil war, taken prisoner and placed at Camp Morten, IND eventually Paroled

Moved to Texas in 1870's

Died on May 7, 1911 in Brownwood, Texas
