I only recently came across the Will of Thomas Vanatta of Oxford Twp., Sussex County, N.J. which mentioned a daughter of his as "Bridged" and she was recorded in Thomas Vanatta's Will of 1793 in Sussex Co., N.J., as the wife of Lawrence Lambertson.

The Abstract of Thomas Vanatta's Will is listed on the Sussex Co., N.J. webpage as follows:

"VANETTA, Thomas of Oxford. 578S - Filed 3 Jan 1793. Wife: Aeltie. Son: Benjamin. Daughters: Hannah w/o John
DOUGIN, Bridged w/o Lawrence LAMBERTSON, Lidia w/o Benjamin DECKER and Anne. Executors: Wife, Aeltie
VANETTA, son, Benjamin VANETTA and Lawrence LAMBERTSON. Witnesses: Abraham DEPUE and Isaac DEWITT, Jr."

When I have tried to find information on anyone named Lawrence Lamberson/Lambertson using the LDS website or Ancestry.com, etc., all I ever find, in the way of a wife for Lawrence Lamberson, is the woman who you mentioned here, i.e, Christina Fite. Sooo, I too am now wondering what, or rather who, Christina is.

I know that Lawrence Lamberson had a wife named Bridget Vanatta prior to 1793 and that they apparently moved to Smith Co., TN., prior to 1820. What I'm left to wonder about is what happened to Bridget Vannatta-Lamberson and secondly, how is Bridget Vanatta connected to my ancestor Peter Vanatta?

My ancestor, Peter Vanatta, was recorded on the 1820 census of Smith Co., TN., on page # 4 and Lawrence Lamberson was recorded on this same 1820 census of Smith Co., TN., on page # 0. He died there in 1826.
Peter is known to have been married in 1793 (same year that Bridget Vanatta's father died) in Lincoln Co., N.C. and he was recorded on the 1790 and 1800 census of Lincoln Co., N.C., but apparently moved to Smith Co., TN., sometime prior to 1804. Question is how is Peter Vanatta connected to Bridget Vanatta and Lawrence Lamberson. I also noted that Lawrence Lamberson appears to have named one of his sons as PETER!!!! Is that correct?

Are you, Linda, researching the Lamberson family? Or the Vanatta family? Or both? I'm trying to research the Vanatta family of Peter Vanatta and only recently discovered this link to the Lamberson family.
