The dutch system of naming was to give the fathers given name to his children as their surname with the addition of se or sen for boys and s, x, or dr for girls. The first and second born boys and girls were then usually named for their grandparents. The english directeted that this system end and everyone pick a perminate surname when the took over New York but it too several generations to die out.
I have found Nicholas, Jacob and Conrad attributed as children of Conrad and Esther but no proof. This is a first for Jeremiha.
