Re: Lawrence & Christena Fite Lamberson TN

Some of the confusion comes from the fact that the county line of Smith, DeKalb and Williamson counties TN moved a whole lot and the Fite and Lamberson families are found in all three of these counties without moving at all. The Fits and some of the Lambersons bought up the land along the creek that runs between Liberty, TN and Hurricane TN. The Lambersons also bought on the other end of Liberty and ran a Mill.

The children of Johannes and Catherine Fite (Vogt) and their families left New Jersey about 1785 and lived in Lincoln Co. NC. In 1796 they moved to Smith and DeKalb counties in TN. John Fite died in 1782 and left a will. Their son, Reverend John Fite was buried at the Salem Church, Liberty, Smith Co. TN in 1852. His sister, Christina was also buried there but their headstones are currently missing. Their sisters Mary and Catherine also died in Liberty. (Catherine at age 96).

I hope this helps a little.
