I believe Lamberson came from the family name Lambertsen. Cornelius Lambertsen came from Utrecht,Holland arriving on "den Houttuyn" at AMsterdam, August4th, 1642. Although he sailed with Dominie Megapolensis, with expectation of continuing to Rensselaewrick, his name does not appear in the colony, and probably remained in Manhatten. Later the family is found in NJ. From various counties in NJ the family started to move throughout the country.
