Hello! I, too, am descended from Capt. George Lamberton. My line descends like this:

George Lamberton = Margaret Lewen
Elizabeth Lamberton = William Trowbridge
James Trowbridge = Mary Belden
Daniel Trowbridge = Sarah Seymour
James Trowbridge = Molly Dunning
Daniel Trowbridge = Dorothea Shears
Almira Trowbridge = Ezekiel Sayles Rooks
Sarah Rooks = Benjamin (B.L.) Robertson
Thomas Robertson = Josephine High
Benjamin Robertson = Mary Scaff
Edward Robertson Evans = Janice Pautsch
ME!

If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to have any information on the Lamberton line (and any connected) back into England. Please e-mail me if it's OK, and I'll give you my address. I'll gladly send you the money for postage.

Oh, don't know if either of you have seen this, but on the Trowbrige family site, there's a neat little anecdote about Capt. George Lamberton and the ship he was lost on being the inspiration for the poem "The Phantom Ship" by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow.
