Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Alexander (b.1836) had a half-sister Janet, from his father Thomas' second marriage. Janet married David Barbour and one of their daughters was Barbara Dickie Barbour b.1874, so the Dickie name had to come in from someplace.
Meanwhile, Alexander's full-sister Jean (married George Thomson) also emigrated to New Zealand. She was my Great-grandmother.
