There certainly was a wing of the family who originally settled in the north west of Northern Ireland in the Giants Causeway area.
If you are able to give me any further clues as to christian names and/or dates I may be able to help you further. I know of all the Lamberton families currently in N.Ireland but unfortunately there have not been any in the Causeway area for some generations now.
