My grandfather on my Mothers side was William Lamberton born in Lochmaben, Scotland in around 1914. His father was also called Lamberton and as far as I know the family decended from Ayrshire.
My Grandfather worked for the BICC for many years in the process marrying Helen Rutherford.
They in the 50's and 60's lived and worked in Uganda and Nigeria and later settled in Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. My Grandfather died in in 86 and my Granny died in 1991.
