Thomas Lamborn

In the Bath area of Somerset, England, we have been looking for the birthplace of Thomas Lamborn, b.1777 (not in Bath), d.1842. He was the Bath city surveyor for pitching and paving. Did he have formal training for this? Where was he educated. Did he really marry Rebecca Strong, as the mormans suggest. I can find no proof of this.
I have a direct line of the dscendants to my husband Colin.
