It is nice to know that there seems to be more "english" descendant to the Lamirande family that are interested in their French root.
Sorry Johanne, there is no relationship beetween the city "La Mirande" nor the beautiful hotel in Avignon (Hotel de la Mirande).
Pierre PIC Dulignon Chevalier et Sieur de Lamirande (the father of the first who came to New-France) was a sollicitor for the King François 1st at Angoulème (Charente Maritime) and was married to Marie Marthe Paquet de Larochefoucauld (great family of France).
Serving the King, He gained his noble letters around 1650.
