There is a connection between de la mothe family and the La motte family. Some of the de la mothe family changed their name when they were in Quebec Canada or when they came to the United States to La Motte. The de la Mothe family came to New France in the 1600s. This happened in my own family tree. They came from Gascony with de la Mothe and I now have the name La Motte. I am trying to find the connection to the Count of Tolouse, as Antoine Lamet de la Mothe Seur de Cadallac claimed. leroy.lamotte@eu.dodea.edu
