Very much worthwhile knowing, I have avoided Mothe searches and others may well be avoiding searches in Delamotte / De La Motte / Motte etc.
phonetic, history, fashion, family choice transcription errors basic 101 that is easy to forget.

My De La Motte were from Tourney (Tournai) then Netherlands French speaking (now Belgium)
