Yolanda, I do not know how far back your family tree goes at the moment. I managed to be given a copy of my family tree by my father, Norman Francis La Motte, some 35 years ago. It goes back, way back with just family names and lines in France. The name of the tomb is THE MICHEL HOULE FAMILY OF CENTREVILLE by W. Bruce Houle. The Houle family married into the La Mothe, de la mothe, family in the 1800s; therefore a section of the book is on the La Motte, de la Mothe, family line going back to Dax, France. Dax was an ancient Roman city during the Gallo-Roman times of Aquitaine. From what I can gather is the family must be a very ancient Gallo-Roman family. I have been trying to see how it is connected with the d'Albert family, or if the de la Mothe family is a branch of the d'Albret family ( a very old and noble family of France). The d'Albert family owned the Chateau Margau and called it de la mothe; could this be the origins of the family name?? This was in the 1100s. Some of the wines of Chateau Margau still carry the name of the previous owner, de la mothe.
