Frank Henry Lamphier, Jr., was born 21 October 1886 in St. Louis, Gratiot Co., Michigan. In 1910, Frank and his sister, Minnie (Lamphier) Smith, were living together on East Street in St. Louis. Frank was a foreman in a printing office. Minnie, who had married _____ Smith, was a bookkeeper in a coal office.

By 1917, Frank had moved to Lansing, Michigan, where he was a printer employed by Wynkoop Hallenbeck Crawford Co. Frank was of medium build and height and had brown eyes and black hair. He was widowed and at some time suffered an injury to his knee.

Frank saw military service during the World War.

After the war, Frank married Emma C., who was born about 1893 in Michigan of German parents. In 1920, they were renting in Lansing. Both were working for the Industrial School for Boys nearby, Frank as an instructor in the print shop, and Emma as a matron.

By 1930, Frank and Emma owned their home at 1016 Kalamazoo Street in Lansing valued at $5,000. They also owned a radio. Emma was no longer working, but Frank was employed as a superintendent in a printing office.

Frank died on 12 August 1979 in Lansing.

Frank and Emma had a daughter, Mildred Lamphier, born about 1921 in Michigan.
