Jim, Hope I have been helpful. I may be related but only distantly. My great-grandmother was Julia Alida Lamphier who was born in Illinois in 1858, daughter of Alfred Lamphier and Jane Willard. She was orphaned quite young, losing her mother in 1860 and her father in 1864, and I have been unable to find any record of her until the birth of her first child in Portland, Oregon, in 1884. Many Lamphiers, no matter the spelling variation, trace back to the Rhode Island bunch, which is where we might find a connection. No other information at this time. Vern
