Hi Jodi....Another researcher sent me the following:
(Affidavit found in Jesse's lamphier's war of 1812 file)
State of New York
County of Onondaga S.S.
On this first day of May 1850, before me a Justice of the Peace, personally came Othanieal Moon and Abraham Lamphier who being by me first duly sworn, upon their oath made the answers following in answer to questions asked by me, to wit
[here follows several questions dealing with Jesse Lamphier and his parents, some of which were]
Q. Were you acquainted with Jesse Lamphear
Ans: We were, he was a cousin of ours his father was a brother to said Otanieal Moon's mother & also a brother to said Abram Lamphear's mother [sic]
NOTE: for my consideration I wonder if they really meant Abram's mother, did a Lamphier marry a Lamphier, or is this miswritten and Abram's father was meant. In any case Othaniel Moon's mother was a LAMPHIER
Q. Were you acquainted with his parents or either of them? If yes, what are their names? Are either of them now living? If yea, where do theynow reside and what is their occupation.
Ans We were acquainted with both of them, their names were Henry Lamphear and Priscilla Lamphiar, they are neither of them now living both of his parents are deat
Q. Where did they reside when he joined the Army?
Ans His mother was dead when he joined the army His father resided in Stephentown in Rensselaer County, New York
Q. If either of his parents are dead, which, when and where did they die.....
Ans His parents are now both dead his mother died in Hancock in the State of Massachusetts about the year 1810 cant tell the time precisely. His father died about the year 1816 at or near Newbourgh in the state of New York...

I am researching the Othaniel Moon stated in above....which since this states his mother was a Lamphier, I am now researching the Lamphier's as well.
My line is Thomas Moon & Betsey Lamphier. The only proof I have of Betsey's lineage is the above affidavit.

Stanton Lamphier married Rhoda Brotherton daughter of Daniel Brotherton. My Othaniel Moon's son Charles married Elta Brotherton, dau of Lester who was son of Othaniel and Othaniels father being Daniel Brotherton. (interesting note: Lester Brotherton Shot and killed his son-in-law Charles in 1877 in Ira, Cayuga Co., NY) There is a big Moon-Lamphier-Brotherton connection! I suspect that Abraham and Stanton Lamphier were brothers as well, but not sure of their father's name. With the name of Henry and Priscilla that leads to Henry Lamphier son of Oliver & Temperance Lamphier. It is very hard tracing with all of the variatios of the last name of Lamphier.

Here is what I found via census records (I am convinced they are all related):

all listed on the same pg & related somehow

Line #22 Lester Brotherton
Line #24 Stanton Lamphier
Line #25 Otheneil Moon
Line #26 Thomas Moon
Line #27 Daniel Brotherton
(there is also an Amos Lamphere listed for the town of Fabius)

I see your post is a few years old, but hoping you get this and even though I don't have it all figured out maybe some of the info will help!
Tina
