Hi Kim,
It's funny you posted this as I have been working on trying to connect this Sarah to my Moon family as well! I do not believe she is a daughter of Othaniel, instead the youngest sister to him. Othaniel appears to have only 3 children and that is the only thing in the census records that is consistent! I feel she is the daughter of Thomas Moon & Betsey Lamphier and is possibly the female under 10 listed in the 1820 Census:

1820 US Census - Scott, Cortland Co., NY Roll: M33_66 Page: 575
Thomas Moon
2 males 10 & under 16 (1 unknown & Job b.1806~my line)
1 male 26 & under 45 (Othaniel)
1 male 45+ (Thomas)
1 female under 10 (Sarah???)
2 females 16 & under 26( dau. Betsey who married Harvey Anthony & possibly dau Martha or Deliverance)
1 female 45+ (Elizabeth "Betsey" Lamphier Moon
2 persons engaged in agriculture

1830 US Census - Elbridge, Onondaga Co., NY
Thomas Moon
1 male 30 & under 40 (Unknown male)
1 male 60 & under 70 (Thomas)
1 female 15 & under 20 (Sarah???)
1 female 50 & under 60 (Betsey)

Sometime between 1820 & 1830 Thomas and Othaniel moved to Elbridge, Onondaga, NY...(Probably about 1826 as daughter Betsey married Harvey Anthony in 1825, Scott, Cortland)(Dau of Thomas & Betsey..sister to Othaniel)

It's quite a jumbled mess, but here is what I have on Othaniel Moon:
His date of birth is really messed up...none of the census records are consistent...I believe his date of birth is about 1790...Had he been born much earlier he would have been to old to be a private in the war of 1812...
I think he married Lucy (last name unknown) about 1821 probably in Scott, Corland, NY.

I have my 3rd gr grandmother Eliza Germond Moon's family Bible, but since My Job moon died in 1832 and she remarried and moved on there isn't any history there except my direct line to Thomas and Betsey Moon...Most of my Moon info is put together like a puzzle!

I did see on the 1860 Census for Hazen snow and Sarah there is a Mary Anthony living there.....seems more than a coincidence that Thomas and Betsey's dau Betsey married an Anthony...also connecting a Mary M. Moon that married Lemuel Bessey would be a sister to Sarah. I found an Othaniel M. Bessey b abt 1819 that died here in Michigan....I see Sarah and Hazen had a son named Horace as did Mary & Lemuel and their Horace was living in VanBuren, MI at the same time as Othaniel Bessey......

Here is what I have on the family of Thomas Moon & Betsey Lamphier:

~Othaniel Moon b. abt 1790 probably Berlin, Rensselaer, NY, married Lucy(Unk) about 1821 probably in Scott, Cortland.

~Deliverance Moon b. about 1794 Berlin, Rensselaer, NY

~Martha Moon b. abt. 1798 Berlin, Rensselaer, NY

~2 unknown male Moon's b. between 1790 & 1800

~Mary Moon b. between 1790 & 1800 that married Lemuel Bessey

~Betsey Moon b. Aug 1801 d. 1843 that married Harvey Anthony

~unknown female Moon b. 1800-1810

~unknown male Moon b. 1800-1810

~Job Moon b. 4 Jun 1806 Berlin, Rensselaer, NY d. 14 Sep 1832 Elbridge, Onondaga, NY married Eliza Germond

~Possibly Sarah Moon b. between 1810 & 1820 married Hazen Snow....?

I have checked numerous family tree's at ancestry and not come up with anything solid....I would love to hear your thoughts on all of this...
