I thought I would say hello. I am a descendant of Loyd and Phelinda Lamphier's oldest daughter (but 4th child) Cornelia Fidelia Lamphier(1836-1913) who m. (1st) Charles Cross (my ancestor) and m. 2nd John E. Durland. The Durlands went to Clayton co., IA in 1866-1868 time period.
I am also a Kerr from Clayton co, and have a great aunt, Jesse Kerr who m. Morris Leonard Lamphier (11th child of Lyman Lamphier and is Cornelia's nephew). I must be from the quarrelsome Lamphiers since I grew up within 30 miles of the Lamphier's in Clayton and Fayette county, IA and never heard of them. Both my parents were dead before I started researching the Lamphiers. I have now been stuck for several years trying to determine Loyd Lamphier's parentage. I have also worked with Marleen and Karen on this line.
I have exchanged some emails with Dale of Patriot, OH.
If I can be of any help in your research let me know. I don't often check this page. Originally GenForum only had a "Lanphear" page where most of my input has been placed.
