Our Lamkin family has also seen the name spelled Lamkin and Lampkin. Do you have any connection to Plummer W. Lamkin or to George Marion Lamkin? I believe that Plummer and George always moved together and have been traced from NC to MO then TX. I find George and his family in MO on the 1880 census. He is my husbands GG grandfather.
