Vernon,
Matthew, Sterling Powell and Allen Lancaster's father was Robert A. Lancaster, he was still living in Green Co., IL in 1830 and 1840.He was in early Smith Co., TN before that.So Susannah wouldn't have been his wife.
However, I have a early John Lancaster, that I can't find anything else on.
Logan County was the parent county of Christian Co., (formed 1797)

June 17th 1808...At Court called and held for Christian Co. at Courthouse in Hopkinsville for examination of John Lancaster who stands charged with feloniously stealing a certain order which John Lancaster gave. Present: Matthew Wilson, George S. Foster, James H. McLaughlin. The defendant appeared in discharge of his recognizance and on motion of Resin Davidge and Wm. Shackleford his council to discharge the prisoner because papers forwarded to this Court did not specifically express the charge and it is the opinion of the Court that prisoner be discharged.
